Puducherry Exports Hit Rs 4,900 Cr
The milestone was reviewed during the third meeting of the State Level Export Promotion Committee (SEPC) held at the Chief Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sharat Chauhan

PUDUCHERRY: In a major boost to its economic and industrial landscape, Puducherry has recorded approximately ₹4,900 crore in exports, comfortably surpassing the ₹4,000 crore goal set under its Export Policy, according to data from the Trade Intelligence and Analytics (TIA) Portal.
The Puducherry Export Policy, notified in Sept. 2021, outlined a roadmap to transform the Union Territory into an innovative and globally competitive export hub. It had set a target to scale up exports from ₹2,500 crore to ₹4,000 crore by the 2025–26 fiscal year while improving infrastructure, expanding market access, and diversifying the product base. The current performance reflects an increase of nearly ₹900 crore over this target.
The milestone was reviewed during the third meeting of the State Level Export Promotion Committee (SEPC) held at the Chief Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sharat Chauhan. Key contributors to this strong performance include pharmaceutical products, inorganic chemicals, and electrical machinery and equipment.
The meeting was convened by A. Vikranth Raja, Secretary-cum-Director of Industries and Commerce. It saw participation from top officials including Finance Secretary Krishna Mohan Uppu, Secretary for Tourism & Fisheries D. Manikandan, Secretary for Agriculture Mohammed Ahsan Abid, Puducherry District Collector Kulothungan A., Karaikal District Collector Ishita Rathi, District Industries Centre General Manager G. Jayaraman, and Chennai Regional Additional Director General of Foreign Trade R. Lakshmi Devaraj.
Officials attributed the success to the coordinated execution of the policy, inter-departmental cooperation, and the strong contribution of local manufacturers and exporters.
Commending all stakeholders, Chief Secretary Chauhan emphasized the need to sustain this momentum to drive industrial growth, generate employment, and support overall economic development.
Moving forward, the Puducherry administration plans to reinforce District Export Action Plans, support emerging high-potential sectors, resolve market-access and infrastructure challenges, and further diversify export products and international destinations.
