RINL Warns Against Counterfeit Vizag TMT Steel
RINL urged customers to purchase only genuine Vizag TMT products, noting that every authentic TMT rebar carries clear RINL branding
VISAKHAPATNAM: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has cautioned the public, builders, contractors and customers against counterfeit and inferior-quality TMT rebars being sold in the market under the Vizag TMT brand.
In a statement issued on Saturday, RINL said some unscrupulous traders were selling counterfeit or substandard TMT rebars using deceptive packaging and falsely claiming the products were Vizag TMT. The company warned that such material does not meet BIS standards and could compromise the safety, strength and durability of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.

Meanwhile, CITU steel plant unit president J. Ayodhya Ramu said union members had recently detected counterfeit TMT rebars in the market, allegedly manufactured by a mill in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
He said the union had immediately alerted the RINL management and urged it to initiate action against those manufacturing and selling the counterfeit products.
