EBG Group, Universal Fitness Plan To Launch Premium Fitness Centres

Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based EBG Group has announced a partnership with Australia-based Universal Fitness Group to introduce premium fitness centres that will also cover health, rehabilitation and wellness needs.
It will begin launching the centres from Hyderabad and Bengaluru first and later expand to Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune and other high centres.
EBG will be responsible for development, rollout and operations of Universal Fitness across India. The two plan to set up more than 30 premium health and fitness facilities and two wellness-focussed units over five years.
Each facility will be up about 45,000 sq.ft. and will have zones for training, group studios, pilates, swimming, physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation, and body composition analysis.
"Fitness industry has grown rapidly over the past decade. Consumers now are seeking systems that support performance, recovery, preventive health and long-term wellbeing,” said Dr. Irfan Khan, founder and CEO of EBG Group.
He said it will look to partner with workspace providers and big realtors too for setting up these centres, which would see an investment of above Rs 5 crore. He, however, said the subscription and membership fee will be decided later.
