DEC Infra Bags New Delhi’s North Block Conservation Contract Worth Rs 317.3 crore

The works will be taken up at a cost of Rs317.32 crore. The works will be completed in 24 months. The North Block houses key government offices including the Ministry of Home Affairs

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad-based DEC Infrastructure and Projects bagged the contract for taking up Phase-I comprehensive conservation, retrofitting and setting up of service building in North Block in New Delhi.

The company received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) of the Government of India. The works will be taken up at a cost of Rs317.32 crore. The works will be completed in 24 months. The North Block houses key government offices including the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The DEC has also bagged another contract for internal finishing, furniture, furnishing and electrical and mechanical related works for office spaces in general pool office accommodation (GPOA), which are government offices at Netaji Nagar under the Central Vista in New Delhi.

The works, which will be carried out at a cost of Rs.295.91 crore, will be completed in a year. It received the LoA.

“It is a proud moment for us to get the contract, reflecting our hard work in ensuring excellent infrastructure facilities both in the private and government sectors. The Central government’s support will also help us in completing the works in a stipulated time,” said DEC chairman and managing director Anirudh Gupta.

He said the company is actively involved in numerous projects worth Rs10,000 crore across sectors in the country.

Explaining about ongoing and new projects, DEC whole time director Ravinder Gupta said the company is executing Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Alwal, Government Medical College in ⁠Ramagundam, Medical College and Hospital in Mancherial, Prisons complex in Siddipet, Railway Station at Egmore near Chennai and Central Cabinet Minister Chambers in New Delhi. The new projects taken up include the High Court of Telangana and the Railway Station in New Delhi, a release said.
