Infosys to start operations in Vizag from July 1

VISAKHAPATNAM: Infosys is all set to launch its full-fledged operations from the office it has set up in the IT-SEZ at Rushikonda in Visakhapatnam from July 1.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, employees of Infosys have been working from home. The company, in a bid to prepare staff into working from office, has decided to open its offices in 2-tier cities. As part of this strategy, the IT giant has decided to launch its operations from the Visakhapatnam office on July 1.

Likewise, it will also launch its operations in Bhopal and Coimbatore.

According to information, initially over 1,400 employees from the north Andhra region will work in two shifts from the Visakhapatnam office.

Incidentally, after several IT companies decided to put an end to the work-from-home policy, certain employees, particularly women, have preferred to quit their jobs.

Keeping this in view, Infosys has decided to adopt a three-phase plan in the interests of its employees. In the first phase, employees have been asked to come to the office only twice a week. In the second phase, the IT giant is permitting employees to relocate to a different branch office, depending on their convenience.

Based on feedback from the two phases, Infosys plans to develop a hybrid work policy.
