IT firm HTC Global buys US-based Ciber for USD 93 million

Addition of Ciber's workforce will propel the company's growth into the marketplace.

Hyderabad: HTC Global Services, an IT and ITeS firm, today announced the acquisition of Ciber Inc, a US-based global information technology consulting services and outsourcing company, for USD 93 million.

According to a statement issued by HTC Global, the USD 93 million acquisition of Ciber will add over 3,500 employees to its operations globally. Headquartered in Michigan, HTC Global has delivery centres across multiple time zones in North America, India and Malaysia.

The firm's operation in India is spread across Chennai and Hyderabad. In 2014, HTC Global acquired CareTech Solutions to expand its footprint in the healthcare industry.

Madhava Reddy, CEO, HTC Global, said the latest acquisition will boost the organisation's ability to deliver exceptional customer service and gain deep expertise in cutting edge technologies.

"With the acquisition of CareTech and Ciber we are confident of achieving our vision of USD 1 billion (revenue) by 2020. We will be recruiting another 5,000 employees by the year 2020," Reddy said.

The combined strength of both the companies will help HTC Global to offer customers a comprehensive set of services and fulfil an integral part of material growth across a range of industry sectors, the statement said.

This buyout will also help HTC Global in expanding its footprint in other parts of the US. The addition of Ciber's workforce will propel the company’s growth into the marketplace, it added.
