Hyderabad: With rapid urbanisation in India, technology needs to advanced and cities need to get smarter. The Telangana government’s start-up initiative T-Hub in partnership with United Technologies Corp. (UTC) is driving a smart city/smart building programme and has shortlisted five start-ups to provide video analytics solutions for smart buildings.
“Cities will grow horizontally and vertically. There will be significant constraint on resources like electricity and water. So, the cities need to be smart and the buildings need to be intelligent without causing damage to the environment. United Technologies Corporation (UTC), a US transnational company, builds solutions that enable smart buildings,” said Jay Krishnan, T-Hub CEO.
Among the five shortlisted start-ups, two are from India, two from the US and one from Israel. The finalists are: IntelliVision, Duran Inc., Emza Visual Sense, Uncanny Vision Solutions and Cognitifai. The shortlisted start-ups will pitch for a video analytics section and one of them will be awarded $50,000. T-Hub will make it amenable for start-ups to be discovered by the world and make the city an attractive destination for start-ups.
