Darwinbox plans to hire 300 people in Hyderabad in six months

HYDERABAD: City-based human resources (HR) tech startup Darwinbox plans to hire 300 people in Hyderabad in the next six months as it seeks to ramp up its offerings in product development.

Currently, the unicorn employs 700 people. After the new addition, the company's headcount will increase to 1,000 in the Hyderabad, where it has opened its new global headquarters on Monday.

The new 75,000 square feet facility at Skootr Forest in Hitec City will house the key product development teams.

Darwinbox is a cloud-based HR technology platform that caters to organizations’ HR needs covering recruitment, onboarding, attendance, payroll, travel and expenses, employee engagement, performance management, rewards and recognition and people analytics.

Speaking to media persons on Monday, Darwinbox co-founder Rohit Chennamaneni said the company has strong presence in India and Southeast Asia and plans to expand to new markets lke the United States, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

The company currently gets 65 per cent of its revenue from Indian customers. It has 650 customers, wherein seven in every 10 companies are very large companies.

The company has already raised $110 million in funding and counts Salesforce Ventures, Sequoia, Lightspeed, Endiya Partners, 3One4Capital as its investors. In January 2022, Darwinbox raised $72 million in latest funding, which zoomed its valuation to over $1 billion.

“We have scaled rapidly and globally in the last seven years. Moving into our new global headquarters marks an important milestone in our growth journey. This move will help us in our ‘from Asia to the world’ vision and support our plans to double business by 2023,” he said.

Rohit Chennamaneni, however, said the company does not plan to raise any fresh rounding soon. However, he did not rule out inducting strategic investors.

When asked its IPO plans, he said the company "is likely to go public, with an Initial Public Offer (IPO) in next three years."
