Jet Airways to start direct Kozhikode-Sharjah flight
New Delhi: Expanding its flight services connecting Southern India to the Gulf region, Jet Airways will start direct service from Kozhikode to Sharjah this month.
The daily flight from Kozhikode, Kerala, to Sharjah would commence from October 30. In a release on October 10, the airline said the direct service would further expand its already-extensive network connecting Southern India to the Gulf.
"The Indo-Gulf route is among Jet Airways' busiest and the airline has ramped up the number of flights on the sector to meet this growing demand," it added.
Kozhikode would become the third Indian city to be connected by Jet Airways to Sharjah through a direct flight. Already, the carrier has services from Kochi and Mangaluru.
Jet Airways' Whole Time Director Gaurang Shetty said Gulf region is becoming an increasingly popular destination among the Indian population, whether its for business travel, tourism or employment.
"To cater to this growing demand, Jet Airways has progressively taken steps to enhance capacity on the route either by deploying more aircraft or introducing wide-body options on the sector," he noted.
The airline operates flights to 67 destinations, including domestic and international places. It has a fleet of 117 aircraft.
