Jagan to Inaugurate Infosys in Rushikonda IT SEZ on October 16

VISHAKHAPATNAM: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate Infosys in IT SEZ in Rushikonda on October 16, according to officials.

Since the outbreak of Covid-19, employees of Infosys have been working from home. The company, in a bid to prepare staff into working from office, has decided to open its offices in 2-tier cities. As part of this strategy, the IT giant has decided to launch its operations from the Visakhapatnam office on October 16.
Likewise, it will also launch its operations in Bhopal and Coimbatore. According to information, initially over 1,400 employees from the north Andhra region will work in two shifts from the Visakhapatnam office.

Sources said Infosys has decided to adopt a three-phase plan in the interests of its employees. In the first phase, employees have been asked to come to the office only twice a week. In the second phase, the IT giant is permitting employees to relocate to a different branch office, depending on their convenience.

Asked about the expansion, minister for industries and IT Gudivada Amarnath said let them start their operations and then meet the government.
“We will definitely cooperate with the company for its expansion in Visakhapatnam and setting up new offices in other cities in the state,’’ Amarnarth said.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of GVMC C.M. Saikanth Varma on Saturday asked his officials to make arrangements for the chief minister’s visit to Visakhapatnam on October 16. The commissioner visited the Infosys building in the IT SEZ in Rushikonda along with the officials.

He asked them to refurbish the roads and sanitation in the Rushikonda area on a war footing.
