IoT makes Kent RO smarter
Bengaluru: Water purifier maker Kent RO on Wednesday launched its first smart water purifier that keeps users informed about the water quality, total dissolved solids, service record among others.
Kent Superb, the new RO purifier, is touch operated with an inbuilt micro-controller that senses water quality on real time basis and displays it on the digital screen.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Varun Gupta, the director of Kent RO, said, as a leading brand in water purifiers, Kent felt the need to be in sync with the market where “smart appliances” is the current trend. This trend is expected to grow in the years to come as Indian kitchens get connected with the internet of things (IoT), he said.
Mr Gupta said that Kent also plans to launch its range of IoT enabled water purifiers in the second quarter of the financial year. The IoT enabled water purifiers will detect any anomalies in the normal functioning of the purifier and communicates with the service centre.
