Mercedes Brings GLE and GLS Night Edition SUVs for Discerning Customers in India

Limited-edition luxury SUVs feature blacked-out styling, bespoke interiors and new features

Pune: Mercedes-Benz, India’s biggest German luxury car maker, on Thursday introduced the GLE and GLS Night Edition SUVs in India, priced at Rs 1.05 crore and Rs 1.41 crore respectively at pan India showroom.

These SUVs come with a darker visual treatment, exclusive interior detailing and additional features to its luxury SUV range.

The special editions are part of a global limited series and will be offered in restricted numbers in the Indian market.

India has also emerged as one of Mercedes-Benz’s top global markets for both the GLE and GLS, underlining the strong demand for premium luxury SUVs in the country.

“Exclusively styled, these limited series lend bespoke design to India’s most desired luxury SUV duo as India emerges as Mercedes-Benz’s top global markets for the GLE and GLS SUVs, reinforcing the unmatched success of these luxury SUVs in Indian market,” said Santosh Iyer, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.

The introduction of the ‘Night Edition’ with bespoke design, curated interiors, exclusive appointments and a sharper focus on personalization, makes the SUVs highly exclusive in appeal, he noted.

In fact, the GLE and GLS Night Edition sets a new standard in differentiated luxury, reinforcing Mercedes’ leadership in top-end luxury SUV space.

The GLE and GLS Night Edition models are available in two exterior shades — Obsidian Black and the exclusive Alpine Grey finish, which is not offered on standard versions of the SUVs.

Both models receive blacked-out styling elements, black Nappa leather upholstery and Anthracite open-pore oak wood trim to create a more bespoke cabin experience.

Both SUVs get additional features such as a head-up display, which is standard across both models. The GLE Night Edition also gets air suspension, which is not available in the standard GLE.

The GLE Night Edition is offered with two engine options: 300d 4MATIC with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 266 BHP and 550 Nm and 450 4MATIC powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 375 BHP and 500 Nm.

The GLS Night Edition is offered in the 450 4MATIC variant powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol producing 375 BHP and 500 Nm and 450d 4MATIC with a 3.0-litre diesel that puts out 362 BHP and 750 Nm. All engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
