BMW Brings New 7 Series and i7 At ₹1.95 Crore

This is a mid-life update for the models and arrives four years after this G70 generation was originally launched

Pune: BMW, the Germany luxury car maker, on Friday introduced the updated 7 Series and i7 luxury sedan range both priced at Rs 1.95 crore.
This is a mid-life update for the models and arrives four years after this G70 generation was originally launched.
Both the petrol and all-electric versions are now locally assembled at BMW’s Chennai plant, making India only the second nation outside Germany to assemble the BMW i7 model.
BMW’s flagship sedans compete with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan in India. It also goes up against some major SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLS, upcoming Audi Q9, BMW’s own X7, Volvo XC90 and Volvo EX90.
“The new BMW 7 Series is more than our flagship sedan - it is our ultimate statement of modern luxury,” boasted Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO at BMW Group India.
Every detail has been crafted around one idea: those who have reached the pinnacle deserve an experience to match, he noted, adding that the new 7 Series sets a benchmark, whether you choose to take the wheel or be driven.
The biggest addition to the i7 range for India is a new M70 xDrive variant with dual motors producing 680bhp and 1100Nm. It has a WLTP claimed range of 686kms and a 0-100kmph acceleration time of 3.8 seconds.
In addition, the i7 eDrive50 gets an upgraded 112.5kWh battery pack and now offers a claimed range of 728kms (WLTP).
Brar said the new BMW i7 M70 xDrive is the most powerful 7 Series ever created - where M performance meets first-class luxury, without compromise.
