BMW Brings M440i Convertible to the Indian Market at Rs 1.09 Crore

The convertible top is made from fabric and can be raised or lowered in 18 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h.

Pune: BMW, the German luxury car maker, on Monday introduced the M440i Convertible in India priced at Rs 1.09 crore at pan India showroom which undercuts its rival, the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet (Rs 1.16 crore) in the Indian market.

“The all-new BMW M440i xDrive Convertible exemplifies BMW’s passion for combining exhilarating performance with timeless elegance,” claimed Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO at BMW Group India.

With its unmistakable design, powerful M tuned performance and refined open top driving experience, it delivers a new expression of sporting freedom, he noted.

The M440i Convertible is based on the 4 Series and has a large kidney grille flanked by LED headlamps. The rear looks similar to the 4 Series and features wraparound LED taillights and dual exhaust tips.

The M440 Convertible comes with a 2+2 configuration. It features dual screens comprising a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The car gets a sporty 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and features like electric seats with memory function, a wireless phone charger, a head-up display, automatic climate control, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and TPMS.

The vehicle is powered by a 3.0-litre, inline 6-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 369 BHP and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system.

BMW claims the M440i Convertible can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, while top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
