Bengaluru: Ather Energy has unveiled its next-generation EL platform along with major technological and product updates at the third edition of Ather Community Day 2025, held on Saturday. The new EL platform marks Ather’s first vehicle architecture since the 450.
The electric two-wheeler manufacturer also introduced its significant software upgrade AtherStack 7.0, a next-gen fast charger, Infinite Cruise, a concept moto-scooter called Redux, and more at the event.
EL Platform
The EL platform has been built for versatility, scalability, and cost optimisation, setting the stage for next-generation scooters. Developed using 26 lakh kms of field data, the platform supports a wide variety of form factors and features a new chassis, powertrain, and redesigned electronics stack.
This simplified architecture enables 15% faster assembly and extends the service interval up to 10,000 km. It also integrates significant safety and convenience advancements. For safety, it debuts an Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS), which reduces stopping distances and minimizes rear-wheel lockups. For convenience, Ather has introduced the Charge Drive Controller, which eliminates the need to carry portable chargers.
Redux
Ather also showcased its concept moto-scooter ‘Redux’, designed for responsiveness and adaptability. The concept vehicle, built on ‘inside out’ approach, combines the flexibility of a scooter with the dynamics of a motorcycle.
Key highlights include an aluminium frame, a 3D-printed lattice mesh seat, and body panels made from materials like AmplyTex. Redux also introduces futuristic experiences such as:
• Adaptive ride dynamics
• Posture-based transformation from scooter to sport bike
• A next-gen HMI called MorphUI
• An ultra-fast acceleration mode called “Take Off”
AtherStack 7.0
One of the major highlights of the event was the unveiling of AtherStack 7.0, a major software upgrade. It introduces voice-based interaction using natural language capabilities, powered by an LLM (Large Language Model) tuned to Indian dialects.
The upgrade includes:
• Ride safety features:
• Pothole Alerts → Warns riders of upcoming potholes and suggests better routes
• Crash Alerts → Differentiates minor and severe accidents and sends live location to emergency contacts, while also displaying critical rider information on the dashboard
• Vehicle safety features:
• ParkSafe → Notifies owners of unsafe parking
• LockSafe → Allows vehicle immobilisation directly from the app
• Remote-control features → Start/stop charging and shut down the scooter from anywhere
The OTA rollout of AtherStack 7.0 will begin in the coming months and will be compatible with the Rizta Z and the Ather 450X.
Ather also announced updates to its HALO smart helmet, which now comes with new colours, emergency pull-out padding, an anti-fog visor, and USB-C charging.
Infinite Cruise
Ather introduced its advanced cruise control system, Infinite Cruise, designed specifically for Indian roads. It will debut on the 2025 Ather 450 Apex, offering three modes:
• CityCruise → Works up to 90 km/h, adapting seamlessly even after braking or speed changes
• Hill Control → Provides torque for uphill climbs and maintains pace through regenerative braking
• Crawl Control → Ensures smooth low-speed navigation at speeds as low as 10 km/h, supported by Multimode Traction Control for wet or slippery roads
Infinite Cruise will be rolled out on the 2025 Ather 450 Apex in the coming months.
Rizta
Ather announced major upgrades for the Rizta Z. Existing customers will receive an OTA update activating full touchscreen functionality. Additionally, the Rizta Z now features:
• A refreshed user interface
• An Eco Mode
• A new Terracotta Red colour option with a super-matte, dual-tone finish
Next-Generation Faster Charging
Ather also unveiled its new 6 kW fast charger, which is half the size of the current Ather charger. It can add up to 30 km of range in just 10 minutes on select variants.
Select Ather chargers will also come with a built-in tyre inflator. With the adoption of the LECCS standard by 10 partners including Hero Vida, Matter, Bolt, Kazam, and Evamp, interoperability across the EV industry is stronger than ever.
