Honda kicks off India Talent Hunt
Aiming to improve Indian participation in motorsports, Honda has started the Honda India Talent Hunt competition. Under the initiative, the brand plans to spot young, budding and talented riders who can participate not only in national but international motorsport championships in the future.
The hunt started off in Bengaluru with a total of 33 registrations from the 13 - 18 year age group. Shortlisted riders from this will get a chance to compete in the CBR 150R Novice category in the IDEMITSU Honda Talent Cup 2018 Round 2 at MMRT, Chennai.
The competition will now move to Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar, Aizwal (Mizoram), Delhi NCR, Bhopal, Vadodara, Pune and Coimbatore, in that order. A total of 20 riders will be selected from 10 cities on the basis of Physical Strength, Riding Test and a Personal Interview session.
A move in a right direction? Certainly. In a country like India where cricket dominates over every sport, it's nice to see a big manufacturer like Honda giving young riders a platform to explore their potentials.
