Tiago gets dual front airbags, ABS, CSC and rear parking sensors as standard.
Other updates include speed alerts, seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters, and front seatbelt reminders.
Tiago hatchback is now priced from Rs 4.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), which is Rs 13,000 more than before.
As the final date to meet the latest safety norms comes closer, Tata Motors has equipped its entry-model, the Tiago hatchback, with more safety features as standard. This includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, cornering stability control and rear parking sensors too.
Other safety updates pertain to the addition of the speed alert, front occupant seatbelt reminders and pretensioners and load limiters for the seatbelts. Tata says it has begun dispatching these latest and up-to-date models of the Tiago to the dealerships already. There has been a slight increase in entry-spec prices too as the Tiago now has a starting price of Rs 4.40 lakh, which is a premium of Rs 13,000 over the previous entry price for the XE petrol variant. We will update you with the full variant-wise price list soon.
Meanwhile, rivals like the Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Hyundai Santro haven’t made all of the above mentioned safety features standard equipment just yet. However, the WagonR is still better equipped than the Hyundai and does match the Tiago’s spec list for a lower price with the entry-spec options variant at Rs 4.26 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
