As the final date to meet the latest safety norms comes closer, Tata Motors has equipped its entry-model, the Tiago hatchback, with more safety features as standard. This includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, cornering stability control and rear parking sensors too.

Other safety updates pertain to the addition of the speed alert, front occupant seatbelt reminders and pretensioners and load limiters for the seatbelts. Tata says it has begun dispatching these latest and up-to-date models of the Tiago to the dealerships already. There has been a slight increase in entry-spec prices too as the Tiago now has a starting price of Rs 4.40 lakh, which is a premium of Rs 13,000 over the previous entry price for the XE petrol variant. We will update you with the full variant-wise price list soon.
Meanwhile, rivals like the Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Hyundai Santro haven’t made all of the above mentioned safety features standard equipment just yet. However, the WagonR is still better equipped than the Hyundai and does match the Tiago’s spec list for a lower price with the entry-spec options variant at Rs 4.26 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Tata Tiago now being offered with standard safety features across variants
Mumbai, May 24, 2019: Tata Motors today announced that their best–selling hatchback – the Tata Tiago will be offered with a range of standard safety features across all its variants. Introduced at a starting price of INR. 4.40 lakhs(ex-showroom Delhi), the car will be equipped with features such as Dual Airbags, Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Corner Stability Control (CSC), and Rear Parking Sensors.
Additionally, the Company has decided to make provisions for alerts with regards to over-speeding and wearing of seat belts for both driver and passenger on the car. Furthermore, the Tiago range will also come equipped with seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters. The new dispatches of the vehicles are underway and will be available at the nearest Tata Motors’ showrooms for the customers.
