PUNE: Italian superluxury carmaker Lamborghini on Friday said it delivered 92 units in India in 2022, registering a 30 per cent yearly growth. It is Lamborghini India’s best-ever annual sales to date driven by its popular Urus SUV.

Its global sales also rose by 10 per cent year-on-year to 9,233 units, its highest ever, in calendar year 2022.

Significantly, the Italian brand has been clocking double-digit growth in terms of deliveries and India is one of the top performing markets, lapping up the latest Lamborghini models.

Last year also saw the Italian brand, whose average car costs over Rs 4 crore in India, surpass the cumulative 400-unit milestone in the Indian market.

This is indicative of the fact that a growing segment of car buyers in India are increasingly interested in the high-end luxury segment.

Brands like German Mercedes-Benz are also benefiting from this trend where growth is predominantly in the top-end segments.

Globally, the United States retained the top market position with 2,721 cars sold followed by China, Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan. The Asia-Pacific region, however, accounted for the highest growth of 14 per cent.

The US remains in the top spot (2,721 cars delivered, up 10 percent over the previous year), followed by Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong & Macau (1,018 cars delivered, up 9 per cent over the previous year), Germany (808 cars delivered, up 14 per cent over the previous year), the UK (650 cars delivered, up 15 per cent over the previous year) and Japan (546 cars delivered, up 22 per cent over the previous year).
