The 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift will quantify pretty much like the active rendition.

The facelifted form of the Ford EcoSport sub-compact SUV was uncovered at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. According to some sources, the Indian market dispatch has been booked for January which does astounded us.

Offered in a gigantic 18 trims levels, the current EcoSport begins with a cost of Rs.6.93 lakh for the section level Ambiente variation and it goes up to Rs.9.93 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi) for the range-topping Black Edition. There will be a cost increment between Rs.30,000 and Rs.40,000 over all variants when new EcoSport comes available to be purchased. Four trim levels for US showcase incorporate S, SE, SES and Titanium.

The Ford EcoSport facelift will have the same 1.5-litre petrol mill as the power source alongside the award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged engine all along for India. The transmission options will continue to be a standard five-speed manual or a six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

The 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift will quantify pretty much like the active rendition. It at present has length of 3,999 mm, width of 1,765 mm, stature of 1,708 mm with 2,520 mm wheelbase.

Tipping the measuring scale at 1.2 tonnes, Ford could bring down the kerb weight for enhanced taking care of and expanded thriftiness. The boot space limit will probably stay at 346 litres other than having a fuel tank limit of 52 litres.

The compact package will be underlined by revisions to headlamps with sleeker LED Daytime Running Lights and projector lamps, enlarged trapezoidal radiator grille with dual slats and black plastic mesh pattern, Edge-inspired fog lamps, redesigned bumpers at front and rear and a new tail lamp cluster design.

On the inside, the facelifted EcoSport receives a brand new dashboard with improved centre console comprising less buttons making the model more upmarket.

There will also be presence of a newly designed multi-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, the high-positioned latest SYNC3 infotainment system with a new colour display allowing for navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration along with a revised instrument cluster, fast-charging USB ports, two 12-volt power outlets and a 110-volt outlet and new rectangular AC vents.

More features are believed to be added to the equipment list which may include TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) for better safety and mileage, reversing camera, additional safety technologies, etc. Ford could introduce Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity courtesy of the new Microsoft’s SYNC3 infotainment package that made its way into the Endeavour recently.

New B&O Play audio system as standard on the EcoSport Titanium featuring 10 speakers and 675 watts of power, cluster ring and cluster appliqué, window regulator switches and air register tabs, leather upholstery for seats, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, electro chromic mirror, optional dual-tone interior and leather upholstery are other important features listed on US-spec EcoSport.

The facelifted EcoSport should manage the tenacious ubiquity of the Vitara Brezza, it should manage the Mahindra TUV300 too. Nonetheless, the exceptionally encouraging Maruti Ignis miniaturized scale SUV, expected one year from now, could make the life much harder for the upcoming facelift.
