Aprilia SR 150 scooter launched; bookings via PayTM
Italian two-wheeler brand Aprilia has launched its first Aprilia SR 150 scooter in India. The brand is owned by Italian automaker Piaggio, manufacturers of the Vespa range of scooters. The Aprilia SR 150 is the first sports crossover scooter that takes heavily after the aggressive styling of the Aprilia sports motorcycles.
The "> Piaggio has launched the Aprilia SR 150 at a price of Rs. 65,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter will be manufactured at the Baramati plant in Maharashtra and will be retailed through the Piaggio’s Vespa dealerships and its multi-brand Motoplex showrooms all over India. Bookings can also be done via PayTM.com paying a booking amount of Rs. 2000/-
The Aprilia SR 150 is powered by the 154.4 cc, single-cylinder, 3-valve, air-cooled engine that makes 11.39 bhp of power and 11.5 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a CVT automatic transmission. The sporty scooter also boasts of many other unique features beside its powerful 150 cc engine.
The scooter sports an aggressive front with a beak-like apron that is studded with the twin headlights, while the indicators take a higher position close to the handlebars. The silhouette of the Aprilia SR 150 is sleek and slender with a tall stance, while a monoshock suspension handles suspension duties at the rear.
What’s even more prominent is the front telescopic forks suspension over the large 14-inch wheels. And the impressive fact is that the front wheel gets braking done by a 220 mm disc brake and the rear by a 140 mm drum. So, the Aprilia SR 150 is all European styled as a crossover sports scooter that is an interesting combination of Aprilia’s sports motorcycles and Indian scooter design traits.
