Desert Sled Version Of Ducati Scrambler Teased

Teased as the Desert Sled in a video, Ducati is likely to unveil this new variant of the Scrambler at EICMA.

The upcoming EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy might feature a new variant of the Ducati Scrambler. A new teaser video, "Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled is coming!", says that the Italian motorcycle manufacturer is bringing a new variant of the Scrambler that will be called the Desert Sled.

There is very little to tell about the upcoming motorcycle since Ducati has ensured that no one can get much from the teaser video. The video contains just a few riding shots of the new Scrambler, in which the bike is not visible clearly, along with some party shots. Just one detail revealed from the video clip is that the bike is sporting a metal mesh cover on the headlamp. The video ends with the Scrambler ridden on a desert terrain, saying “Desert Sled coming soon”, but again, the bike is not visible properly.

If we go back to the 1960s, Desert Sled referred to a special breed of scrambler motorcycles which were built to be used on desert terrains. These machines were lighter and used a more durable sub-frame along with long travel suspensions and other performance parts. These type of motorcycles were used to race in the Baja desert competitions in California. So, now we know what we can expect from the upcoming variant of the Ducati Scrambler.

According to some reports, the Italian bike maker has also registered two new Scrambler versions for 2017 with the California Air Resources Board. These new models are said to be offered as 'DS' and 'CS', among which the DS is most likely to stand for ‘Desert Sled.’ Speculations suggest that the CS could be a café racer iteration of the Scrambler, which is also expected to be unveiled at the 2016 EICMA.

Apart from these new Scrambler versions, there are many bets on Ducati for unveiling various products which were spied during this year. So, it is definitely going to be a great show for the Ducati fans and enthusiasts across the world at the upcoming motorcycle show in Milan.
