Brring Logistics Orders 50 Mahindra eSupro Cargo Vans

A zero-emission, non-polluting vehicle, eSupro is India's first electric van.

Mahindra’s recently launched eSupro electric passenger and cargo vans are generating quite an interest among transporters. A decent order of 50 Mahindra eSupro Cargo vans by Brring Logistics stands testimony to this fact. A zero-emission, non-polluting vehicle, eSupro is India’s first electric van. The first consignment, consisting of 10 vehicles from this order, have already been delivered.

Brring is the online grocery site of Innovative Retail Concepts and a provider of last mile delivery services for Big Basket. The new vans make Brring the first logistics company in India to include electric vehicles in its fleet and Big Basket the first Indian e-commerce company to bring in this alternative technology for last mile transportation.

Mahindra eSupro Cargo guarantees a better load carrying capacity and range per charge with lower running costs. Speaking about the handover of the first eSupro cargo vans, Mahesh Babu, CEO-designate, Mahindra Electric, said “We are delighted to hand over eSupro vans to Brring, as it will usher in a whole new concept in cargo transportation. It is a great step by Brring to move toward sustainable mobility. With a host of commercial applications and its suitability for last mile delivery, the eSupro Cargo Van is ideally suited for deployment in e-commerce, courier services and with transportation companies.” He also said that this deal with Brring will encourage other companies, especially in the B2B segment, to use the eSupro range of electric vehicles in the future.

The vehicle can be charged as easily as charging one’s mobile phone, through standard wall sockets. The eSupro Cargo boasts of a maximum speed of 112 km (on full charge) and a top speed of 60 km/ph. Made for catering to city traffic, the cargo van is equipped with the latest electric drivetrain technology from Mahindra Electric, a high-torque electric motor and a direct drive transmission. The eSupro promises bigger profits as it has one of the largest cargo carrying capacities among closed panel vans in India.

The vehicle also assures greater driver comfort as it comes with Direct Drive Transmission, thus removing the hassles of clutch and shifting gears in congested traffic. Most importantly, the cargo van is noiseless and has zero tailpipe emissions, helping address the plaguing issue of vehicular pollution in our country.

Commenting on the new addition to its fleet, Abhishek Nehru, CEO, Brring Integrated Logistics, said “With Mahindra eSupro, Brring Integrated Logistics has taken another big leap forward in creating an eco-friendly supply chain which is aligned with our vision. The Mahindra eSupro electric vehicles will first be deployed in Big Basket’s last mile grocery deliveries in Delhi and the NCR.”

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M Ltd), part of the USD 17.8 billion Mahindra Group, is credited with manufacturing innovative products and solutiosn for the Indian market.
