Honda CX-02 Concept might enter production
Honda showcased the CX-02 concept at the 2016 Auto Expo which was developed by the company's Indian R&D team. Now, a few patent images of a motorbike similar to the CX-02 concept have been leaked. The images give rise to the possibility that the motorbike might enter production.
By filing the patent for the design, Honda has proved that it doesn't want to loose its copyrights and having some big plans for it. The patents have been applied by Honda Japan. When the CX-02 was unveiled at the Auto Expo, the company didn't reveal any detail about the motorcycle, however, it was sporting the same liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor which is used by the CB500X and many other 500cc Honda products.
The existing model of the Honda CB500X got some minor updates this year but it is likely to get a complete revamp by 2018. If the next-gen model will be based on the CX-02 concept, it will get features like inverted front forks, radially mounted brake callipers and aluminium swing arm. As the concept was developed in India, we can expect the company to bring it to our country as well which is already having a good market for the middleweight adventure machines like Triumph Tiger and Kawasaki Versys.
