Tesla recently unveiled its Model 3, which received immense popularity almost immediately. Many claimed Tesla’s model 3 to be the first vehicle to transcend the car world and reach tech stardom.
However, it seems like Volkswagen doesn’t want to be left behind in this race. In fact, they are going above and beyond at taking on Tesla’s competition by planning a long-range 300-plus-mile electric car.
According to Electrek, Volkswagen CEO, Hebert Diess told German magazine Wirtschafts Woche that the yet-unnamed EV will have a range somewhere between 300 to 600kms. He further stated that the vehicle will be equipped with a cargo space of the Passat sedan, thereby making it extremely spacious, as well.
Diess confirmed the production version of the car will be sent into development in 2018 or 2019.
