Mitsubishi has opened official bookings of the third-gen Outlander SUV in India. While the carmaker hasn’t revealed the launch date, it is likely to take place sooner than expected as the Mitsubishi has already begun dispatching the SUV to its dealers across the country. The pricing of the Outlander won’t be anywhere near as competitive as its rivals since it will be sold via the CBU (completely built unit) route.
The third-gen Mitsubishi Outlander offers three rows of seating and an all-black interior design. It will be available only in a single but fully loaded variant with features such as LED headlamps with auto leveling function, 16-inch alloy wheels, sunroof, LED tail lamps, dual-zone climate control, and a 710W Rockford Fosgate sound system to complement a 6.1-inch infotainment screen.
Under the hood is a 2.4-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine which develops 167PS@6000rpm and 222Nm@4200rpm, coupled to a 6-speed CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. The transmission sends power to the Mitsubishi Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) setup.
Since its a CBU, you'll get generous levels of safety features on offer such as 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, active stability control, hill start assist system, cruise control, and rear parking camera with parking sensors. We expect Mitsubishi to price it around the Rs 30 lakh mark.
