New Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV comes at Rs 15.99 lakh    

PUNE: Mahindra and Mahindra, the SUV specialist, has introduced its first C-Segment all-electric SUV XUV400 at a starting price of Rs 15.99 lakhs at pan India showroom.

The XUV400 competes with the Tata Nexon EV Max, MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric.

The new XUV400 is sold in two variants XUV400 EC and XUV 400 EL and the latter costs Rs 18.99 lakh. The introductory prices are applicable for the first 5,000 units for each variant. Bookings will open on January 26.

The Mumbai-based automaker said it plans to deliver 20,000 units within a year from launch.

Deliveries begin in March 2023 for XUV400 EL and during the Diwali festive season for XUV400 EC.

The electric XUV400 comes equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system offering more than 60 connected car features, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, automatic headlamps and wipers, electric ORVMs and an electric sunroof. The car also offers smart watch connectivity and supports OTA updates.

The XUV400 uses an electric motor that produces the highest power 150hp and 310 Nm of torque in its segment. It comes with three drive modes tuned for steering, throttle response and regeneration. Mahindra claims it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.

The XUV400 with the 34.5kWh battery has a claimed range of 375km, while the one with the 39.4kWh battery has a range of 456km on a single charge as per the Indian driving cycle (MIDC). It can be charged from 0-80 percent within 50 minutes, using a 50kW DC fast charger.

The battery can be charged from 0-80 per cent in 50 mins using a DC fast charger.
