In a potential reply to the Yamaha Fascino, Suzuki Access 125 SE and the Vespa SLX, TVS has launched the Jupiter Classic edition at Rs 55,256 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The styling has been done to look retro-esque with the brown and beige seat having white piping and a rear backrest. It gets a heavy dose of chrome with chrome inserts on the front mudguard and side indicators. The chrome round mirrors and chrome bar-end weights are a segment first. Besides the 'Sunlit Ivory' shade, it gets a windshield above the headlamp to render the classic appeal.
The instrument cluster dials also get a classic design. It gets an under-seat USB phone charger.
Mechanically, the scooter remains unchanged, featuring the same 13-inch wheels and front disc brakes as the Jupiter MillionR. The engine is the same 109.7cc air-cooled single which develops 7.99PS at 7500rpm and 8Nm of torque @ 5500rpm, transmitted to the rear wheel via a CVT automatic gearbox.
The Jupiter Classic Edition is priced at Rs 55,266 (ex-Delhi), around Rs 900 more than the Jupiter ZX Disc.
