3,000 Datsun redi-GOs sold

In just 23 days since its launch, close to 3000 units of the redi-GO have been sold.

Datsun added the third offering in its product portfolio last month with the launch of the redi-GO. The entry-level hatchback sits below the GO and the GO+ in Datsun’s product portfolio. Less than a month since its launch, the redi-GO has registered sales of over 3,000 units. With the new hatchback offering receiving a warm response, the company has reported a sales growth of 188 per cent in the month of June as opposed to the same month last year.

Commenting on the sales of the redi-GO, Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India, said, “This unprecedented growth of the Datsun brand is due to the phenomenal response the Datsun redi-GO is getting from people across the country.”

“In just 23 days since its launch, close to 3000 units of the redi-GO have been sold. These are exciting times for Datsun and we look forward to delivering more cars to our customers”, he further added.

The redi-GO has a youthful design and is nearly identical to the concept vehicle that was showcased at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. It has the signature hexagonal grille flanked by swept-back headlamps. Both the bumpers feature silver scuff plates that give the vehicle a unique appeal. The redi-GO underpins its sibling -- the Renault Kwid which is based on the CMF-A platform. Powering the redi-GO is a 799cc three-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing 54PS of power and 72Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Datsun is offering the redi-GO with a standard two years/unlimited kilometre warranty, with the option of extending it by two or three years/unlimited kilometre warranty with free roadside assistance. The redi-GO is available at a starting price of Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in five variants.
