2018 Tata Tigor launched at Rs 5.20 lakh
Less than a week after the rival Ford Aspire facelift was launched, the Tata Tigor has got some minor cosmetic tweaks and feature updates to keep up with the competition.
The exterior styling changes are kept to a minimum which makes sense as the car was launched just last year. It gets mildly tweaked headlamps, clear lens taillamps, a shark fin antenna and new 15-inch alloys. A new blue exterior colour has been added to the palette.
On the inside, the updated Tigor features a new 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with Android Auto instead of the 5-inch unit with Tata’s own application suite as well. Tata is also offering safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and corner stability control and rear parking sensors as standard across the range. it also gets a reverse parking camera but it is limited to the top-spec XZ+ variant only.
The Tigor doesn’t get any mechanical changes and is powered by the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel unit. Both these three-pot engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while the petrol variant also gets the option of a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission).
