Jaguar XF facelift to launch in India this month
Jaguar flaunted three models at the 2016 Auto Expo, in February, while also launching the XE model on the occasion. The launch of the other two models, next-generation XF facelift and F-Pace SUV was scheduled for late 2016, and now it looks likely that the updated version of the XF sedan will be launched this month.
What’s new with the updated version of the XF sedan is the improved driving dynamics, aided by a lightening of the kerb weight via maximum use of aluminum, built completely on a fresh platform. The tech successfully altered the kerb weight of the Jaguar XF from 1,850 kg to 1,678 kg. The length is also increased to 5067 mm from its current 4,961 mm to make interiors even more spacious. The wheelbase also goes from 2,909 mm to 2,960 mm for better accommodation.
The 10.2-inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with 10 GB storage is housed in the reworked dash, which also has a larger steering wheel. The revised seats too offer premium comfort. The exterior of the XF facelift also comes with great looking alloys, full adaptive LED headlights, LED taillights, rejigged bumper and a revised piano black grille.
The powertrains will be a 2.0-litre diesel mill capable of generating 180 PS and 430 Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, borrowed from the ZF. The petrol powerplant will be of the same displacement and put out a better tune of 240 PS and 240 Nm of torque.
Set to compete with the Mercedes Benz E-Class, Audi A6 and the BMW 5-Series, the new-generation XF facelift will be priced around or slightly above Rs. 50 lakh.
