Jaguar XE Prestige launched at a price of Rs. 43.69 lakhs

The Jaguar XE Prestige will compete with the Mercedes C-Class and BMW 320i Petrol.

Jaguar Land Rover, owned by Tata Motors, launched the mid-range variant of the sport saloon, pegged between the base “Pure” and the top-end “Portfolio” trim, priced at Rs. 43.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

While the base “Pure” trim is priced at Rs. 39.9 lakhs, the Portfolio is priced at Rs. 47.99 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai). Both the Pure and the just launched Prestige variants feature the 2.0-liter petrol engine that produces an output of 197 hp and a torque of 320 Nm, while the Portfolio has a more powerful engine that delivers 237 hp. There is also the special “All Surface Progress Control” (APSC) that helps control the vehicle while riding on low traction surfaces.

While the Jaguar XE diesel variant hasn’t been launched yet, the Jaguar XE Prestige will compete with the Mercedes C-Class and BMW 320i Petrol. Some special features include the sunroof, rear-view camera, mood lighting, 380W sound system, etc.

JLR India President Rohit Suri was hopeful that the Jaguar XE Prestige entering into a new territory will continue its success run in the fresh segment, to add to its recent milestone of crossing the half a million mark in automobile production.
