2018 Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT launched at Rs 8.54 lakh

The AMT is available in three variants: VDI, ZDI and ZDI+

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Vitara Brezza AMT in the country. It is available in three variants: VDI, ZDI and ZDI+, prices for which start from Rs 8.54 lakh and go up to Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Brezza is the first car with the DDiS 200 diesel engine (the same 1.3-litre engine but with an output of 90PS/200Nm) to get an AMT. Until now, the AMT was being offered only with DDiS 190 engine (74PS/190Nm), that powers other Maruti cars such as the Swift, Dzire and the Ignis.

The Ford EcoSport also gets an automatic transmission option, but only with the petrol engine. The EcoSport petrol-AT is available in two variants - Trend+ (Rs 9.76 lakh ex-showroom) and Titanium+ (Rs 11.36 lakh ex-showroom).

More safety features:

Maruti has also made several changes to the Brezza’s packaging and aesthetics. Safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear parking sensors and high speed alert are now standard across the range. This step is taken to comply with the Indian government's ruling, which requires dual front airbags and rear parking sensors to be fitted on every car sold in India, starting from July 2019.

The rest of the equipment list is unchanged and the Brezza continues to get features such as automatic climate control, 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control and twin-pod instrument cluster with variable mood lighting in the top variant.

The Vitara Brezza now gets chrome finish on the front grille and rear number plate housing on all variants. Earlier the front grille was silver painted while the rear housing was body coloured in the lower variants

The variant badging found at the rear of the Brezza has also been removed

The Brezza also gets a new orange exterior colour which replaces the blue colour

Grey alloys on the Zdi and Zdi+ variants have been replaced with new black ones

The Brezza also gets all-black interiors with silver inserts now, instead of dark grey
