Nissan launches Terrano Sport
New Delhi: Nissan India has launched a special & limited- edition of its most popular SUV, Terrano called the Sport Edition. The new edition of Terrano has been priced at Rs 12.22 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
This new offering from the Company gets a bunch of updates to the exterior in order to give the SUV a premium look and feel. It also gets a dual-tone colour scheme with a white body and the roof and pillars wrapped in black. The Sport Edition is only offered on the 85hp version of the diesel Terrano.
Commenting on the launch, Jerome Saigot, MD at Nissan India said, “Inspired by our global SUV heritage, the all-new Terrano Sport Edition makes a bold statement and entry on the road. The sporty exteriors clubbed with the smart, luxurious dual tone interiors make it a great package for the customers who are looking for an SUV that complements their achievements and reflects their adventurous lifestyle.”
In terms of design, the Sport edition of Terrano gets LED daytime running lamps, red and black decals, a contrasting black roof and pillars, and new cladding on the wheel arches.
The cabin now features a dual-tone finish, all around – brown and black for the dashboard and black and red on the seat covers and floor mats. Navigation is available as standard on this edition.
The K9K 1.5-litre diesel engine is unchanged from the standard model, putting out 85hp and 200Nm of torque in this version. The motor is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, powering the car's front wheels.
The new Nissan Terrano Sport edition also gets a 7.0 touchscreen navigation system, steering mounted audio/phone controls, touch lane change indicator, Daytime Running Lights and more.
In terms of safety, the SUV gets dual-airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution) with BA (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution with Braking Assistance).
The other feature that the Terrano Sport gets is the NissanConnect which is an integrated information and communications platform which can connect to the driver's smartphone.
The system has more than 50 features such as geo-fencing, speed alert, nearby pit stops, locate my car, share my car location and so on and so forth. Nissan will provide 3 years of free NissanConnect services to the customers with the purchase of the Terrano Sport.
With the introduction of the new Terrano Sport Edition, Nissan is Expecting to increase its sales in SUV category. In this segment, it competes with the likes of Maruti S-cross, Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster.
The price tag of the Sport Edition is same as the current range-topping 85hp diesel version, the Terrano XL (O), which is also available at Rs 12.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
