Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited has announced that it has started accepting bookings for the fuel-injected Gixxer SF Fi at select dealerships in nine cities. It is priced at Rs 99,662 (ex-showroom Mumbai). Dealerships in Mumbai have even started deliveries with an on-road price of around Rs 1.12 lakh. The bike will reach dealers in Delhi and Bangalore by the end of this month.
The Gixxer SF Fi is exclusively available in the MotoGP edition colour scheme and the 220mm rear disc comes standard with the fuel-injected trim. Coming to the visual difference from the standard bikes, it just gets an Fi badge on the left side of the front fairing. Apart from that, the bike looks identical to the standard MotoGP edition Gixxer SF.
Fuel injection will surely improve the response of the engine, while the 155cc, air-cooled motor continues to deliver 14.8PS of power and 14Nm of torque. However, the effect of the advanced fuel system can be felt in the way the engine delivers the power and enhances the riding experience.
Other features of the Suzuki Gixxer SF Fi are also similar to the standard model, including the beefy 41mm front forks, 7-step adjustable rear monoshock, fully digital instrument cluster, sporty dual-port exhaust muffler, 3-split-spoke alloy wheels and a fat 140/60 section rear tyre. Along with all these traits, the addition of fuel injection makes the bike around Rs 8,000 - 9,000 costlier as compared to the non-Fi MotoGP edition with rear disc brake.
