Tata Motors plans to export Tiago
Hyderabad: Tata Motors, which is aiming to get into a transformative journey with its new model Tiago, is also looking at exporting the low-priced medium hatchback to countries that have right-hand driving. Launching the car in Hyderabad, Tata Motors vice-president customer support passenger vehicle business unit, Dinesh Bhasin, said, “Tiago will be a game changer for the company and it will surely help in transforming the company’s value system. Having said that, we have aspirations to send this car outside India and it will be mostly to countries which are basically right-hand driving nations.”
The car was developed and designed by engineers from Pune, UK and Italy and almost three years of tremendous research has gone into making of the car, which lies somewhere between the medium and premium hatchback range. The car’s starting price of Rs 3.2 lakh undercuts similar vehicles by rivals such as Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor and is equipped with features such as an touchscreen infotainment system and rear parking sensors in an effort to revive sluggish domestic sales.
