Kia Seltos official details revealed ahead of launch
While we await its launch on the 22 August, Kia has revealed the official details of its first SUV in India, the Seltos. The bookings are underway through online and offline medium with test drives also available in some cities. It will be available in two trims- HT line and GT line which will have three sub-variants on offer. The HT line will include HTX, HTK and HTE while the GT line options include GTX, GTK and GTE. The prices are expected to be in the Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh range.
Exteriors

The Kia Seltos has an edge over the Creta in every aspect except the height. Rivals like the Nissan Kicks and Renault Captur are bigger in dimensions than the Seltos but lag behind in terms of boot space.

It will get all LED illumination units for the headlamps, DRLs and even the fog lamps. The Kia SUV will feature two 17-inch alloy wheel options on the top variant whereas the lower ones will get 16-inch steel and alloy wheels. A shark fin antenna will be standard on the Seltos.

While both the HT and GT line will feature similar exterior fitments, the latter will get red accents on the front and rear skid plates along with red brake calipers making it the sportier of the two.

Colour options will comprise of eight monotone and five dual-tone shades.
Interiors

The headlining equipment in the SUV include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with a 7-inch colour MID, an 8-inch head-up display, 400W Bose audio system (Arkamys tuned units on lower variants) with multiple patterns for speakers and LED ambient sound mood lighting.

The steering wheel options include a regular round unit with a flat-bottomed option. The top variant in the HT line gets honeycomb pattern for the leatherette seats whereas the GT line gets horizontal tube type. Leatherette upholstery includes a choice of black and beige colour options.

The ventilated driver seat gets 8-way power adjustable function while rear passengers can enjoy a two-step seat back recline of 26 and 32 degrees. For extra luggage space, there’s 60:40 split function available.

Engine options

The Kia Seltos has the widest variety of powertrain transmission combinations we have ever seen in its segment. All of its engines are going to be BS6 compliant at the time of launch and some will even power Hyundai cars like the Creta, Verna and Elantra in the future. More details here.

The Kia Seltos will be the first in segment to come with three drive modes- Normal, Eco and Sport.

The braking duties will be handled by a 16-inch disc upfront and 14-inch unit at the rear (lower variants get a 9-inch drum unit).
Connected Features

Kia Seltos will get a suite of eSIM-based connected features similar to the Hyundai Venue. Called the UVO Connect, it will be free of cost for three years and chargeable thereafter. It allows remote control for ignition, AC and air purifier, volume control and more.
Service and Warranty
Kia will setup 192 service centers across 160 cities in India by the time it goes on sale on August 22. Customers can even schedule servicing through Kia Link App.
