Renault slashes lodgy prices by Rs 1 lakh

The price cut is applicable to the entry-level variants of the 85PS version.

Renault has reduced prices of its MPV offering, the Lodgy by nearly a lakh. The price cut is applicable to the entry-level variants of the 85PS version. Prices now start at Rs 7.59 lakh, and top out at Rs 10.99 lakh, as compared to previous pricing, that ranged from Rs 8.55 lakh to Rs 11.33 lakh.

The price revision helps the base Lodgy STD shove off Rs 96,000 from its old price of Rs 8.55 lakh. Moreover, the RxE trim now costs Rs 80,000 less than the old price of Rs 9.37 lakh, whereas the RxL trim is priced at Rs 9.44 lakh, down by Rs 55,000 against the old price. The top-of-the-line RxZ trim now stands at Rs 10.99 lakh, while its old price stood at Rs 11.33 lakh.

However, it is to be noted that the prices are only slashed for the 85PS variant, while the 110PS trim’s prices remain unchanged.

Renault Lodgy

The Lodgy didn’t quite pick up after its launch, maybe because of the bulky looks that overshadow the features it has over its rivals. Moreover, despite its over four-metre dimensional disadvantage, the Lodgy is decently priced. The price cut has now brought it closer to the price of the Ertiga, but the latter is still cheaper. Also, Maruti sells as much as 5000 units of the Ertiga in a month, which shows its popularity among buyers.

The Lodgy’s features trumped even those of the old Toyota Innova. But with the launch of the Crysta, Toyota has regained its lost ground by clinching back its title of the MPV segment leader. The latest-gen Innova’s sales last month stood at over 7000 units! The new Innova has massively improved in the looks, features, space and performance department. Read its road test here.
