Hero Electric introduces 'Flash' at GMX 2017
Hero Electric has introduced a new electric scooter christened Flash at GMX 2017 in Delhi on February 2, 2017. It is an entry level electric scooter and would be suitable for first-time electric vehicle buyers. It has a 250W motor which draws its power from a 48-volt, 20Ah VRLA battery. It can travel up to 65km on a single charge and has a limited top speed of 25kmph.
The scooter is equipped with a short-circuit protection system, provides under-seat storage facility and has 16-inch alloy wheels with telescopic front suspension. A top box with integrated pillion backrest and a perimeter crash guard are available as optional accessories. The scooter is available in two dual-tone colour schemes which include Red-Black and Silver-Black.
Being an electric vehicle, maintenance and running costs will be meagre. Hero will also provide doorstep servicing to senior citizens and women in Delhi. The company plans to expand this facility to other cities as the sales increase. The scooter does not require any riding license or RTO registration to be ridden around or owned. This, in turn, is good news for youngsters who do not fulfil the minimum age limit to apply for driver’s license and also for senior citizens since the Flash is quite the accessible scooter.
Commenting on the launch of the e-scooter, Mr Sohinder Gill, global CEO, Hero Electric, said, "With Flash, we are moving further ahead with our vision of making India an electrically mobile nation. Flash is the epitome of the latest and the best of technology available in the e-automobile sphere. It weighs only 87kgs, helping it score very high on maneuverability. A Magalloy wheels, telescopic suspension and a full body crash guard will further enhance its popularity among users and drive greater adoption for e-vehicles in the country."
