Maruti Plans to launch unique service networks under Nexa Dealerships
Under its premium Nexa dealerships, Maruti Suzuki plans to float separate servicing networks to provide better customer service for the customers of its premium automobiles. Currently, the Maruti sells only the premium hatchback Baleno and the premium crossover S-Cross, through its premium Nexa dealerships. With the Baleno RS and the Ignis awaiting their respective launches, the model tally will rise to four.
The Maruti wants to move from their traditional workshops to separate Nexa workshops, which will be opened, beginning with priority given to the existing Nexa dealerships. Meanwhile, the Nexa showrooms will also increase to 250 by March 2017, according to Maruti’s plans, as it also plans for the Nexa to sell 15 percent of its products by 2020. This showroom tally has to improve from the current 150 showrooms, spread across 94 cities, throughout India.
Along with the service networks, the number of models sold through the Nexa dealerships will also be increased. Besides the Baleno RS and the Ignis, the total number of models sold through the Nexa dealrships will be 15, by 2020. However, the Maruti doesn’t have a retail strategy yet for all the 15 models.
For the Maruti, and also for the Nexa dealerships, the Baleno has been doing really well, which, on the flip side, has caused a 6-8 month waiting period, for the hatchback. So, Maruti currently has been trying to ramp up production from the originally planned 8,000 units to 10,000 units per month now and 12,000 units by October.
Going by Maruti’s plans for 2017, the Maruti Suzuki’s proposed Gujarat plant will begin trial production in early 2017 and will have a starting capacity of 2.5 lakh units and will have the capacity to go all the way up to 15 lakh units per annum.
Celebrating its first anniversary, after a July 2015 launch, the Maruti Suzuki also inaugurated a display area and a lounge at the Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
