Skoda will finally launch the Octavia facelift in the country on July 13, 2017. Most of the authorised Skoda dealers in the country are already accepting bookings for the Octavia facelift since May 2017. In its 2017 avatar, the sedan features minor cosmetic changes and additional equipment.
The primary highlight of the new sedan is its split full-LED headlamps. While some people like it, some don't. The new Octavia also has minor tweaks to the bumper and grille, giving it a new front look. It has a set of 16-inch alloy wheels and new graphics for the LED tail lamps.
The changes are not just limited to the exterior but present in the interiors as well. The new Octavia comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and ambient lighting with a multicolour option. There's also new glossy black finish around the gear lever and climate control knobs, and new inserts in the door panel. You also get hands-free parking where you have to just brake and accelerate while the car steers itself.
In terms of mechanicals, the new Octavia remains almost identical to the outgoing model. You can choose between three engine options: a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine coupled to the 7-speed DSG transmission, a 1.4-litre TSI petrol coupled to a 6-speed manual, and a 2.0-litre diesel engine coupled to 6-speed automatic/ manual transmission.
