Bajaj Discover 150F And 150S discontinued
When Bajaj introduced the Discover 150 as a higher displacement commuter bike and it used to compete against the Honda Unicorn, Yamaha SZ and Hero Achiever. It was being offered in two variants – the half-faired 150F and naked 150S. It offered the best mileage in its class and was loaded with features like petal disc brake at the front, gas-charged mono shock rear suspension, 4-valve DTS-i engine, tubeless tyres, long seat and digital instrument cluster. In spite of all this, its sales had been declining after the first couple of months since launch.
In the meantime Bajaj came up with one more commuter bike in the 150cc segment with the V15. Distinctive styling and good overall packaging helped the V15 to gain a good response from people in terms of sales figures. Despite the V15 being 2000 rupees more expensive than the Discover 150 it sold in quite good numbers. For the last couple of months, Sales for the Discover 150F and 150S have been poor though Discover 125 sales still remains strong. This might be one of the reasons for the withdrawal of the Discover 150 twins from Indian market.
With the launch of V12, we expected it to canibalise sales of the Discover 125. There is quite the possibility of Bajaj discontinuing the Discover series if the V12 and V15 overshadow the Discover range.
