Ashok Leyland beats Oct 2015 sales, sells 28 per cent more CVs in Oct 2016

The number is inclusive of LCV, M&HCV segment and denotes 28 percent growth in sales figure.

Ashok Leyland has sold 12,533 commercial vehicles in October 2016. The number of sales reported in the BSE filling is 2,730 vehicles more in comparison to what the CV manufacturer had sold in October 2015. The number is inclusive of LCV, M&HCV segment and denotes 28 percent growth in sales figure.

Though one reason behind the increase in sales figures could be the CV manufacturer's increased presence in News and Media, factors like Dhanteras and Diwali falling in October cannot be neglected. It is a proven fact that vehicle sales usually skyrocket during the holy month of Deepawali and Dhanteras.

Ashok Leyland has sold 9,574 vehicles in the M&HCV segment in October 2016 as compared to the 7,176 vehicles sold in October 2015. However the growth in number of sales in the LCV segment has not been that phenomenal as the manufacturer of Dost LCV managed to sale 2,959 vehicles in October, which is a mere 232 more in comparison to 2,627 LCVs sold October 2015.

The reputed home grown commercial vehicle manufacturer has quite recently signed a whopping INR 1,140 crore agreement with the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania. The deal requires Ashok Leyland to facilitate Tanzania Home Ministry with vehicles, gensets, spare and equipment. This deal was also announced by the truck and bus manufacturer in a BSE filling earlier in October.
