Honda eyes No. 1 tag
In FY17, India alone contributed 28 per cent to Honda's global 2-wheeler sales and became the top contributor to Honda's two-wheeler business.

Bengaluru: Auto major Honda Motor aims to pip Hero from the top spot in the 2-wheeler segment in India by 2020, an official said here on Wednesday.
Speaking at the inauguration of Honda’s fourth assembly line at its Narsapura facility in Karnataka, Honda’s chief regional operations officer, Asia & Oceania, Shinji Aoyama said, “Honda’s 2-wheeler business spans more than 120 countries worldwide and India is leading the demand.
In FY17, India alone contributed 28 per cent to Honda’s global 2-wheeler sales and became the top contributor to Honda’s two-wheeler business.
The growing Indian market is top priority for Honda. To better meet the dynamic market demand and to prepare for the future opportunities, Honda has inaugurated the fourth assembly line in the Karnataka plant. With this, the Narsapura plant will now produce 24 lac two-wheelers annually,” said Mr Aoyama.
