Two new Mahindra Scorpio Getaway test mules spotted

Mahindra will dispatch a correspondingly specced show in India by mid-2017.

Mahindra is by all accounts taking a shot at an all-new Scorpio Getaway, both for the Indian and abroad markets, as two diverse test vehicles were as of late spotted on Indian streets. With Tata Motors equipping to dispatch the Xenon Yodha on January 3, 2017, we wouldn't be astonished if Mahindra animates up the testing procedure and dispatches the new Scorpio Getaway before long.

As specified earlier, two different test vehicles were spotted testing - one with a single-cab configuration and the other with a crew-cab set up. The single-cab Getaway is sold primarily in markets outside of India, while the crew-cab has been with us since 2007.

Both test mules are accepted to be the adaptations for global markets like South Africa and Australia. But, we anticipate that Mahindra will dispatch a correspondingly specced show in India by mid-2017. The Scorpio Getaway is additionally being tried for left-hand drive showcases as Mahindra needs to extend its range to more nations around the globe.

The new model, with cabin-crew configuration, for India will boast the same 2.2-litre mHAWK engine which pumps out 122PS of power and 280Nm of torque. A 4x4 system is also expected to be offered to match its competition.

On the outside, it is likely to carry the same front look as the current-gen Scorpio SUV. Even inside the cabin, the crew-cab Scorpio Getaway is expected to feature the same dashboard design as its SUV sibling.

The BS-IV variations of the Scorpio Getaway at present at a bargain have two sticker prices - Rs.9.15 lakh for the 2WD adaptation and Rs.10.14 lakh for the 4WD one. The new model is relied upon to get a marginally higher sticker price, fundamentally in light of the fact that Mahindra will expand the cost of the greater part of its offerings in India from January 2017. Once propelled, it will confront the warmth from Tata Xenon Yodha and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
