The Looks

Mercedes-Benz

This update is a facelift in the truest sense of the word. The biggest update is at the front, albeit an extremely subtle one. The projector headlamps have given way to a pair of LED headlamps, and the front bumper has been mildly redesigned to incorporate a wider air dam, and is now garnished with some chrome trims. The profile remains unchanged, whereas the rear gets new LED taillamps with updated detailing, and a mild rejig of the bumper as well.

The Cabin

Mercedes-Benz

Don't fix what isn't broken - that's the mantra Mercedes-Benz has followed with the update. The insides of the updated CLA remain largely similar to the outgoing generation. Goodies include climate control, leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering and electric seats. The old 7.0-inch screen has been swapped for a larger 8.0-inch screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and there's a new instrument cluster as well.

The Engines

While the CLA gets a choice of 11 engines globally, we will get just a couple. The petrol motor is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, that develops 183PS of power and 300Nm of torque. The diesel, on the other hand, is the good old 2.2-litre motor in a 136PS/300Nm tune. We will be getting our hands on the new CLA for an extensive road test review soon, keep your eyes on the review section.

Competition

The CLA's lone rival in the Indian market is the Audi A3, prices for which begin from Rs 28.5 lakh. BMW has recently taken wraps off the 1 Series sedan as well, but that's a China only model for now.
