Odysse Electric to sell over 1,000 e-bikes monthly

PUNE: New entrant Odysse Electric is targeting to sell over 1,000 electric motorcycles every month by December 2023 even as it gears up to launch a new high speed electric scooter next year.

The Mumbai-based automaker has invested over Rs 23 crore in setting up three factories in Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad to cater to the nearby markets.

“We are aiming at selling over 1,000 electric bikes every month from December onwards,” Nemin Vora, CEO at Odysse Electric Vehicles, told Financial Chronicle.

He said the company has an installed capacity to produce 2,500 units a month with one shift and it can be scaled up to meet market demand.

On Friday the firm expanded its electric two-wheeler line-up with the launch of its second e-bike, the Vader priced at Rs 1.30 lakh at the Mumbai showroom.

The company has already opened bookings for the electric motorcycle across all dealerships and deliveries will start from July. The booking amount is Rs 999.

Odysse is offering the Vader electric motorcycle with a 3-year warranty on the battery and powertrain.

Featuring an all-LED lighting, the Odysee Vader electric motorcycle has received a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, powered by an Odysee EV App. This app offers connectivity features like Bike Locator, Geo fence, Immobilization, Anti-theft, track & trace and Low battery Alert among others.

The motorcycle’s EV powertrain comprises a 4.5 kW (peak power) hub-mounted electric motor drawing power from an IP67-rated 3.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

The electric motor develops up to 170 Nm of torque and is powerful enough to take the bike to a top speed of 85 kmph.

Riders have three ride modes to choose from – Eco, Drive and Sport. Eco maximizes range to a claimed 125 km, with Drive and Sport reducing this to 105 km and 90 km respectively.

The battery pack can be charged to 100 per cent in about 4 hours.
