With rapid advancements in the automobile industry, car manufacturers are constantly trying to develop hi-tech cars to match the needs of the modern consumer. Today several car manufacturers are collaborating with designers and engineers to build brilliant concepts. Concepts also allow companies to showcase their latest technologies to a potential consumer. On that note, here a six unique concept cars that you might not have heard about before.- To end the list, we have one concept from Indian automobile manufacturer Tata. Tata Pixel's ability to manoeuvre and park in the tightest of spaces is made possible by its Zero Turn toroidal traction-drive Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT), which assists rotation of the outer rear wheel forwards and the inner rear wheel backwards, while the front wheels turn at acute angles. The result is a turning circle radius of just 2.6 metres. The 'scissor' doors rotate upwards from the front to allow passengers to effortlessly enter or exit the Tata Pixel, even in the tightest of spaces.
- BMW SNUG is a concept designed by David Raffai, a talented Hungarian designer. BMW Snug was created in collaboration with BMW Group and was based on paper waves, which are covering a central cell, where the interior can be found. For instance, a 4 seater interior which can be used as a living room, and changeable graphics on the side to be more unique fuel cell.
- Volkswagen GT Ge electric sports car is an impressive study made by industrial and transportation design graduate, Eljesah Shala, as part of a sponsored thesis from the German carmaker. The GT Ge looks like a proper sports-, or some might say, even super-car, with taut lines that sculpt the body
- Mercedes-Benz BIOME concept is a bionic car would be carefully grown in a laboratory rather than in a standard production line, using a unique material called BioFibre. This would allow each car to be uniquely designed with its own “DNA†of customer specifications. All materials would biodegradable, with each tyre grown from a separate seed.
- Dodge Stealth Concept by Pininfarina you see here is designed by famous FIAT partner Pininfarina. Rumours say 2015 Stealth may incorporate some serious power and all wheel drive besides economic 4-cyl engine.
- Lamborghini Rat Rod is not what you would expect a mainstream Lambo' to be. The unusual looking rat rod a twin-turbo Small Block V8 was selected as the engine this was connected to a sequential 6-speed transmission.
- BMW ZX-6 concept car came from the 3rd year students of Transportation Design School at Turin Based IED. The concept is focused keeping in mind the modern needs, tastes and life style of an individual. All the cars designed in this project looks like toy cars.
