Sunny Leone opens up about her infamous television interview

She confessed that she did not even know how to answer those questions but didn't want the journalist to get the best of her.

Mumbai: A few days ago, Bhupendra Chaubey interviewed Sunny Leone badgering her over her past as a porn star and also went on to ask her if he would ‘become morally corrupt by talking to her’. She answered his questions with spectacular poise and was applauded for it.

In her most recent interview with Femina, Sunny opened about her experience being practically interrogated about her past.

When she was asked about what was going on in her head during the interview, she said, “I thought he was a senior journalist and people respect him so much. So however he tries to portray me, that is what people are going to believe. I am, however, beyond surprised that people saw and felt what I was feeling. People too felt that it was wrong and they too felt hurt and found it weird, just like I did. I didn’t know this person; I speak to so many journalists but he is someone I had never spoken to. So, I did not know what I was getting into. I thought we were just going to talk about the movie but it took a different turn.”

Although Bupendra wrote an arrogant and defensive open letter, he didn't apologise to Sunny. But the way she handled the questions, it was clear that she was not waiting for one.

Sunny said, "I was so afraid that my fans will be upset that I did not take the questions head on. I honestly did not even know how to answer them. I just stayed in my seat and wasn’t going to let this person get the best of me. As far as letting him win by making me look bad was concerned, I wouldn’t do that. I’m not sorry for who I am or for what I have done and I believe no one can push you down and make you feel like that. I tried my hardest not to let it show. There were moments where I did not know what to do, though I was hurt and upset, I just continued with it. I thought people would be upset with me but the opposite of it happened."

As hard as the journalist may have tried to shame her, Sunny was met with unconditional amount of love and support not just from the people, but also from the film fraternity.

Even Aamir Khan voiced his support and took to social media to announce that he would love to work with her. Sunny was thrilled to bits and said, “Whether Aamir and I work together in future or not, his message made my day. I was so happy and very surprised.”
