Kerala High Court breather for Ashutosh Gowariker

The court found that the allegations prima facie appear to be false.

Kochi: Kerala High Court on Monday rejected a Kollam native's plea to direct Bollywood filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker to produce the script of upcoming multi-crore flick Mohenjo Daro.

Justice K. Abraham Mathew issued the order while considering a plea filed by Mr Renjilal, who argued that he was the author and original owner of copyright over the literary work by the name.

He claimed that he had written a script for a movie, and he had given it the same title. He narrated the storyline to one Baiju of Canaries Post Sound in 2012.

He later registered the script. In 2014, he happened to read an article and found that the story as well as title of the proposed movie by Gowariker were same. The court found that the allegations prima facie appear to be false.

The court also observed that the maintainability of the suit filed by the petitioner before the Kollam court is also doubtful.
